PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Up & Down Mix is made from a carefully-developed blend of active ingredients creating a column of attraction from lakebed to surface as tiny particles, flavour and attraction rise and fall throughout the entire water column. This enables you to attract the carps' attention and entice them to your hook bait no matter what level they're sitiing at (click on the link below to watch this unique bait in action).

Suitable for use in PVA bags or for balling in as a groundbait, the Up & Down Mix is extremely popular for zig rig fishing, creating a column of attraction directly around your hook bait in mid water without the need for repeated casting - a scenario that no other carp bait can create.

Containing the same flavour/attractor profile as the Quench boilies, each bag is also supplied with 250ml of Big Shot liquid to further enhance the 'pulling power'. Mixed with this Big Shot liquid the mix will sink, but mix it with water and it'll float. Not only does this give you the ability to fine-tune the bait's buoyancy to suit any situation, but it's the closest thing you can get to fishing on the top, mid water and on the lakebed all at the same time.

The Pressure's On

""

While on a photoshoot for a carp fishing magazine Rob Nunn put his faith in [QPOP11] - Quench Pop-Ups coupled with a PVA bag of [UDQ1] - Quench Up & Down Mix and was duely rewarded with this low 20lb mirror just one hour after arriving at the lake.

What A Haul

""

In three and a half hours at Thorpe Lea fishery Darren Pearse and Dennis Roe landed 23 carp, 13 of them over 20lb.
Fishing with just one rod each, while other on the lake struggled, Darren and Dennis spodded our Up & Down Mix over the top of over-depth zig rigs with trimmed, 11mm Top Banana hook baits as well as spotting mixers soaked in our Hot Scottish Salmon Oil. Putting a few spoonful out after each fish kept the bites coming in what was a truly hectic few hours.

The biggest fish of the quick-hit, hauling session was a 26lb mirror.
Overnighter On A 40-Hectare Venue

""

Heading to his target water on Friday after work, German field tester Michael Dahlke found the venue rammed. With only one night at his disposal, he quickly changed plans and headed to a 40-hectare public water nearby.
Driving to an area he had seen carp previously, Michael spotted out a couple of kilos of Quench boilies and presented a 14mm Quench bottom bait and 11mm Candy Floss pop-up, snowman style, over the top with both rods fishing on the same area.

Michael's efforts were rewarded with two lovely, dark, 25lb+ mirrors the following morning just before he had to pack up.
12 Months On Solar Baits

""

Young-gun Harry Bontoft says: “It’s been one year since I started using Solar baits, and I’m so happy with the results that I wanted to share them with you. Truth be told, most of my fishing was actually done from February to August last year, as my alarms and pod were stolen in late August, which stopped me from going for a little while. Also, going to university in September stopped me from fishing as often as I would have liked, but this makes the results I enjoyed even more special.
“During the past 12 months I’ve had a play around with different Solar products on many different venues and enjoyed great success, landing plenty of carp including a few over 30lb.
“In particular the Up & Down Mixes fished with zig rigs as well as mixers soaked in Hot Scottish Salmon Oil have both produced extremely well during the warmer weather.
“The plan is to get out on the bank more this year and, fingers crossed, the carp will come my way.”
Incredible Haul

""

Matej Vavh has returned from his first session of 2017. Kicking things off in style , he landed 7 carp, including 2 forties, a fifty and a sixty while most around him blanked. A mixture of home-made boilies with our Mixmaster flavours, our Pineapple pop-ups and Quench Up & Down Mix did the business. Matej explains:

“After a crazy work and home life recently I finally managed to get out on the bank for the first time this year. It wasn’t ideal timing, as the carp were getting ready to spawn, but like most of us, I don’t have the luxury of picking my fishing times. I have to go when the opportunity arises.

“The carp were very active in the shallows and among the snags and for the first day of my trip I tried to target them with a little white snowman hook bait and a small PVA BAG OF Quench & Down Mix. Being preoccupied they didn’t seem interested. So, on the morning of the second day I found and area out in front of the swim, relatively shallow and clear with sunken snags behind it. At 128 meters from the bank it wasn’t going to be easy, but it was an idea area to target.

“I put down a carpet of corn, hemp and crushed boilies, home-made baits using Solar’s Ester Strawberry, Stimulin Amino and Ester Cream flavours. Everything was soaked in Quench Mega Big Shot liquid and Spombed out over the area. This was put out in front of the snags, up to about 1 metre short of them.

“Using a snowman hook bait with an 18mm home-made bottom bait and 14mm Solar Pineapple pop-up, and a tiny PVA bag of Quench Up & Down mix, I positioned the rigs over the baited area, on the nearside of it to give as much distance between my hook bait and the snags as possible.

“It worked and later that day I landed three carp in quick succession, one at 11lb, one at 26lb and a small common. Topping up the swim after each take the action continued on the third day, this time with bigger carp. A 49lb common and a 41lb mirror graced my net.

The fourth day was quiet until dusk when one of the rods tore off. After a strong and exciting battle in relatively shallow water, about 2 metres deep, I slid a 61lb common into the net.

“The fifth and final day played out much the same as the previous day. The day was very quiet until the sun started to go down, perhaps due to the fish being pre-occupied in the day. That evening another big common couldn’t resist the hook bait and at 52lb I couldn’t believe how well my first session of 2017 had gone!

“It was even more incredible when 90%  of the other anglers on this particular, popular, large venue, blanked.”
