43lb+ Mirror

""

After pre-baiting an area on his target water with some test baits, Solar Tackle field tester Jim Vlerick finally targeted the spot on one of his target waters over the Easter weekend. Fishing with 4th Rod Special Pink & White hook baits and a scattering of boilies Jim landed two mirrors from the large, tricky venue, the biggest being this one at 43lb+.
Quick-Hit Thirty

""

A few hours on a local water using PVA sticks filled with Top Banana Up & Down Mix and a Top Banana snowman hook bait has seen team member Fred Ducros land this chunky, 30lb+ mirror.

Jake Bags Another Tonford Original

""

Jake Anderson's landed another of Mid Kent Fisheries originals from Tonford Lake, in the shape of this 24lb 10oz common.
The Solar Tackle team member presented a white, Top Banana 14mm pop-up on a short, stiff, hinged rig over a small bed of boilies, chilli hemp and maize.
Rounding Off A Great Season

""

On his last session of 2016, Solar Tackle fieldtester Peter Zyla has landed three carp, including this 33lb mirror, which has capped off a fantastic season for the German-based angler.
With air temperatures down to 3°C and a southeasterly wind, conditions were far from perfect for Peter’s session.
“The water temperature was a little higher than the air temperature at 5°C, but I was still up against it,” says Peter.
“Targeting an area at 30-metres from the bank, which was 5.5 metres deep, I baited with a small spread of TunaMino baits. These new baits have produced some great results for me this year during testing. I opted to fish a Top Banana pop-up over the top of the freebies, as I wanted a visual hook bait to grab the carp’s attention in the clear water.
“Over the course of 24 hours I landed three carp, topped by this 33lb mirror. What a great way to round off a fantastic season.”

Awesome Spring Common

""

Fieldtester Peter Zyla has kicked off his spring season in style with this awesome 46lb 9oz common.

Peter explains: "Outside the lovely, spring sunshine is shining, but this early in the season the water temperatures are still low. My target water is a shallow pit and so the weather affects the carp very quickly. Although the sun was shining, the temperatures were quite low for a few days, followed by a cold, easterly wind.
"Once the cold wind had died off though, I put my plan into action.
With the sun warming a particular, sheltered area of the lake in the morning, I headed to the lake in the early hours to be in prime position for dawn. The water here is a little deeper, and I presented 14mm TunaMino boilies and a Pink & White Top Banana pop-up over the top.
"In the early morning in the first rays of sunshine I got my first bite of the year. As soon as I picked up the rod I knew it was a decent fish. As the fish neared the margins, in the clear water, I saw the golden scales of a big common. As the fish slid into the net I was thrilled, as I knew I’d got my season off to a great start.
On the scales the fish went 46lb 9oz."

Twice As Nice

""

Having pre-baited an area on a public German water for a couple of weeks in May using TunaMino test baits, fieldtester Peter Zyla finally got to put a session in over the baited spot, having been kept away by house renovations.

Fishing an area 3.5m deep, Peter placed a snowman hook bait, a TunaMino bottom bait and white Top Banana pop-up, with a size 8 Stronghold 101 hook 2m off the side of the baited area.
The first fish to fall to his tactis was a feisty, 27lb 5oz common, which was quickly followed by a 31lb 5oz mirror.
